NEW Summer Opportunity: Sensational Outdoor Movement! Wednesdays at the Farm from 9am-4pm through July & August and is free. Kids will be working in groups with a certified Occupational Therapist that has been working with children since 1996.
· Does your kiddo struggle with emotional regulation?
· Do you see a lot of struggle with transitions?
· Inability to calm?
· Do they have a large stress response?
· Do you see them struggling with sensory things- such as avoiding certain textures, materials or seeking stimuli such as high impact, becoming overstimulated in new or busy environments? being harder on their body than they should be or risky behavior?
Many children with trauma histories can benefit from help with an occupational therapist. It can help teach them to calm, supports them and gives them skills to handle large stress responses and triggers that might set them off, gives them great skills and coping strategies, helps with emotional regulation, sensory motor, and sensory integration. Sessions will be 90 minutes on Wednesdays. If you are interested in having your child participate, they need to complete the required evaluation. The occupational therapist will prepare a treatment plan with goals and for the summer. Evaluations will be conducted at the farm June 12 and 13th starting at 9am and will be scheduled hourly. Please indicate in the comments your top 3 appointment hours and we will try to accommodate. We will be in touch.
Info about the occupational therapist:
I look forward to meeting you and your family and am excited to sharing my experience “at the farm”. I have been working as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist since 1996 working in schools, outpatient clinics, and as an adjunct professor. I have a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from St. Catherine University and believe training and education of the child’s needs to the primary caregivers is as important as the direct “play” with the child. I have sensory integration and praxis test certified, which is the gold standard for learning in sensory integration/sensory processing. And have seen good progress using Masgatova Reflex Integration with children/adolescents that are working through sensory motor and emotional difficulties.
Please stop and introduce yourself to me.
