Join us at the farmhouse for some beautiful manicures. This can be a mother/daughter fun time or just for mom if you need some time away! Manicures will be $10 each and take 30 minutes per person.
We plan to set appointments so please indicate in the comments a couple of the best options for your time slots and we will confirm and do our best to accommodate. There will be tea, coffee and light snacks available throughout the day (7p is the last appt slot) so you are welcome to relax at the house for the day too. The manicures will be done by a licensed professional beautician from Colombia. Pastor Nincy is visiting for a few months. ALL of the money for the manicures will go towards her ministry in Colombia. Details on the ministry are below. Let us know if you have questions!
Details about the ministry: The location is Centro Alegre, Colombia and the foundation is Fundación Social Amiguitos de Jesús. This area of Colombia is rural and experiencing difficulties accessing basic needs (low income area, little access to healthy food, limited educational resources and internet access, limited health care access). Pastor Nincy Bejarano (the beautician) travels there once a week and stays for a few days, she brings food for the 80+ kids. She also organizes Sunday school lessons and sports opportunities for the kids. Other projects she has completed is finding clean water and building a well for the community. Her biggest priority right now is getting healthy meals to the kids as often as she is able. Her home church in Colombia donates money, food, and man power. However, she is usually in need of finances every month for food, so that is the most urgent need. Also, their hope is to break ground in late March or April on a kitchen/dining hall that would also serve as a church and multipurpose area. Their goal is to raise $3,000 for that project. She is working directly on this work and her husband is leading the build team and members of the church are ready to build. It's just the finances that need to be in place. All of the money they raise through the manicures and donations will go directly to these two needs, food and building. And while she is doing so much to meet physical needs she is also teaching about Jesus' love and discipling the families and children as she spends time with them. Long term, her hopes for this community include establishing some business opportunities (maybe through handcrafts, farming, gardening), starting a center for Christian childcare and a seminary for youth and building an educational facility with internet and computers.
